Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I agree with you. Drs can be to quick to throw a label on people because they are too lazy to do their job and look into the situation further. I take Valium not for depression, but rather for my pain it has always helped me immensely in this category. Awhile back I noticed on my chart they actually had a label that said depression. I blew a gasket. I said what the hell is this? I told them I don't have, never have had nor have ever been diagnosed with depression & I've been tested five times per the standard generally speaking when you go to pain management. In the beginning it took awhile to find my current Dr. I said that is a strong label to throw on someone just because you assume I'm in Valium therefor I must be depressed. I said this is a serious enough condition that has taken years to come to the forefront for people to realize that many times it's a chemical imbalance in your brain. That is just one example long story short it was taken off of my file. If we as patients don't fight & advocate for ourselves were screwed. Sorry for the rant like you this is a huge soap box for me. I am so sorry for your sister & for you. Keep fighting my friend. Remember your not alone we are all here to support you. Please keep us posted on how your doing. I hope your pain diminishes enough so you are able to get some sleep. Sending positive thoughts & prayers your way.
Hugs & God Bless
Lisa
I am sorry you are in so much pain but you need to take the pain meds to help you. They prob won't take all the pain away but it is better than nothing.
You are certainly welcome to rant and we are all here to give you support. Don't feel bad. I hope you take some meds for some relief.
