Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Today has just been a really bad pain day. Yesterday was rough, but not as bad. Tried to go to the grocery store with my BF to pick up 5 items. Ended up in such pain I had to sit down while he checked out (walking for 15 mins.) Hard to eat because of pain. Tried advil and Tylenol no relief. I guess I feel worse because it was supposed to be my first night back at work in 4 months. I just can't do it. I work in a factory; no sitting on the job (except breaks) lifting 40-60 pounds repeatedly, pretty much it goes non stop. I want to go back so badly.
I just want my life back. My doc says that I can go back because it won't make the condition 'any worse' but I can barely function. I'm tired of hurting, tired of putting strain on my BF (both emotionally and financially), tired of people saying 'its not so bad'. I want a big hug, but even that hurts :(
I have been trying to just keep going, it is just hard on days like today. Any advise/support is greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening to my rant.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

living with chronic pain takes several "adjustments" to everyday living...i dont know how old you are, im 41 and feel im too young to use a walker but i tell you what, i wouldnt be able to leave my house without her
i understand the strain you think you are putting on the one you love...if hes anything like mine, he understands completely and doesnt mind helping you
maybe you just cant do that job anymore, maybe its time to make an "adjustment" in that area..if you cant do the job you just cant hun, try not to beat yourself up, youre doing the best you can
just know you are never alone here...i come to this group for understanding support and to not be judged...its safe here so pull up a chair and stay awhile, post often because it does help to "get it out"
gentle (((hugs)))
I don't think we've met. I'm Paula and it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm really sorry your feeling so down. Your around my daughters age. She just turned 24. I can only imagine how your feeling. You have a boyfriend and want to go places, do things and so forth. But your pain is stopping you. I'm sure that makes you depressed/down and if no one is understanding that your in terrible pain it makes it even harder on you. I can understand that.
What confuses me is you being in so much pain still and your doctor telling you to go back to work. Plus you not getting anything for the pain. Isn't your doctor giving you anything for the pain??? Have you seriously thought about maybe going to another doctor for a second opinion? Your only 22 and if it was my daughter I would be getting another opinion if she was still in as much pain as your saying. Wouldn't hurt right? You need to find out what is going on.
I hope your pain eases up and things get better.
Best wishes,
Paula
I'm looking for a new PCP, but no one has ant openings for at least 2 weeks. Thank you dot the support :)
First I am sorry for your pain. Second has embolization been considered? Since you are so young it is amazing this was discovered so quickly. Many women have gone years without a proper diagnosis for this condition. Any pelvic floor or uterine pain is difficult to treat as you have discovered.
If this continues there is the financial issues. SSDI for disability? If you receive treatment that is effective then you would not longer need the SSDI.
Hugs,
Joanne
Your in great hands here , I agree with E, get yourself a rolinator, I had to finally so it, I am 46, was really embarrassed, and wouldn't take it to work but had to finally push my pride aside and look out for my safety .. The girls at work call it my Harley because its the same color as my mc.. I call it my Catalac, it is soo much better than to other walker I have..
I hope you can feel better soon, some days we need to have a day of being down, there is nothing wrong with that..
Hugs to you!!
They are hoping to manage the pain for as long as possible. Thank you for the kind.words.
Bertie, no mention of a walking aid as of yet, but I would feel odd using one to be honest. I have too much pride for my own good. Thank you for the reply :)
Sorry the pain is still so bad. Can I ask why are you choosing to see a PCP as opposed to an OB/GYN? Have you considered that a GYN might have better ways of treating your illness and managing your pain better? Just a thought.
I hope that you find a job that works better for the stomach pain, lifting 40-50lbs repetitively cannot be easy with low abdominal pain.
Hang in there and take care.
Kat
I have a rollenator and a wheelchair that I haven't had to use in months. I have a feeling this Fall/Winter is going to be horrible for my tendon pain.
Hoping you slept good and your Tuesday is pain free.
Healing hugs,
Marci
Katlyn, my GYN is amazing, he just doesn't seem to understand that walking around is so painful, let alone work. I have been looking for a new PCP for a few months. My current doc and I don't see eye to eye. When this started she insisted it was the flu and that I was fine. Even after the CT that showed the problem. Her exact words 'vericose veins don't cause pain. You are fine.' So I think I need a new PCP who will listen. I could have been getting treatment 2 months ago if she would have given me a referral.
Thanks again for the support and kind words. I'm focusing on getting this under control, then I will worry about jobs/money/the rest of life. No use stressing when I can't change it right at this moment. What will happen will happen, I just have to get through it.
In the meantime they don't want me to take ANY NSAIDS. I have been on various ones for 4 months, and they are concerned about my stomach.
So I can take Tylenol for the next 2 weeks. FML...
