Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I wish you the best of luck...I had mine taken out this last march. I thought I had the flu but ended up staying in the hosp for 5 flippen days. being on pain management did make it harder after, they just want to treat the surgery pain not the added pain on top of that.
I told my husband that next time, I have to make sure they keep me on all my meds AND then add the post surg meds on top of that.
so if your on pain management, just make sure they keep that up for you.
Hard lession learned
Good luck with your surgery, the good news is that they now they do these surgeries through Laparoscopy so the recovery is not as long, and the pain is not as bad. I had mine taken out in 94 and it was a nice and quick recovery. Make sure that your pain management Doctor write orders for your pain medications while at the hospital, and that he does up the dosage accordingly for added pain. If your PM Doc does not have privileges at the hospital were you are having the surgery, make sure that he calls the surgeon and explain the kind of pain management that you aree going to need post-op so you don't run into issues. Take care and good luck,
Tipper
Did you consult with your doctor about stopping the pain medicine.
Stopping any medicine is just as dangerous as starting a medicine.
It is possible to get life threatening problems from stopping many different medicines.
Whether you stop is certainly up to you. Just contact your doctors office and tell them what you ar eplanning to do - it could save you from all sorts of unintended problems.
I hope you will be better real soon.
Big gentle hug, Raoul
Your post surgery pain can be controlled. You need to talk to your dr and ask him to note in your chart that you may be opioid tollerant and that should help.
Some people dont hurt much after that kind of surgery. So , Ill pray for a easy recovery.
I had mine out 16 years ago. Im a wimp when it comes to that stuff.
Im sure youll be OK.
Please concider what I said.

I had mine out just 5 years ago and I was sooo much better after the surgery...
My concern is that you are down to half a vicodin a day, Thats should not be really doing anything for your pain...Can you try something else..I take Tylenol 3or4 for my everyday pain or Tylenol Arthritis when its not that bad of a day...I am afraid of getting addicted as well..
You should be helping your self pre-surgery with something and ween yourself post surgery..Its really not a bad surgery to recover from and I have had over 30 in my life so far...I also have endo and alot of other scar tissue problems and sex is the last thing on my mind...My X-Husband was like that (operative word "EX")..My Current husband understands and would Never try anything if he knows I'm in pain...
Take Care of You and Good luck and I hope all goes well for you..
