I'd love to list the folks I feel fit into the Superhero category..
..and why.
But .... I'd hate for someone to be inadvertently left out..
Or any feelings to be hurt.
So.. instead..
How about if we just list the qualities in a person that we think qualifies them for that superhero status in the CP life and Board.
What could be more heroic than when someone ALWAYS cares how you're doing... no matter how badly they might be doing themselves.
I won't do my whole list.. because I love to share thee kinds of topics.
I'll just add..
How courageous is it when folks seek, find.. and share.. humor..
... in the midst of pain?!? That's definitely heroic in my eyes..

We are all here because we have pain or we caregivers trying to understand a love ones pain.
Qualities that admire are:
-The selflessness of many of our members. For some of us typing is very painful. But in spite of the pain I know members who still offer advice and support to others.
-Willing to share their personal experiences to help others.This sometimes helps a person learn new ways to cope. Also able to realize that they are not the only one suffering with certain challenges.
-Being positive. My father, now 90, has continually told us" that if we don't have something positive to say, then keep our negative opinions to ourselves'. Negative, judgmental, comments have no place in a support group. If you know that something is wrong, then find a link to share, that provides information as to the danger, or negativity of someone's comment.
-Going out of one's way to research helpful information for others is a selfless act of kindness. I have been sent excellent sites that I have been very grateful to receive. I try to look things up, but I am amazed at the info from others that I never found myself.
JC-Great topic. Realizing that someone cares is so important. Funny, first thing I look at when I open DS is if anyone sent a hug or a message. Then I look at the updates and see if there are any issues that I may be able to offer support on.
This is a give and take board with no limit on the number of hugs and support that you can give. :)

The courage it takes some to just say..
