I know nothing.
He did not even address the low body temp.
Didn't take blood work.
Didn't give me anything for anxiety. After asking me about my stress level and my anxiety attacks.
Gave me a cortisone shot and is going to treat me for lyme disease (no, he didn't not take blood work) And I have been tested in the past for this and it was negative. I told him that. It was only a year ago in fact.
I told him I was going to need sleep meds. He gave me none. After saying he thought Fibro was cause by lack of sleep (rolling eyes here) he said my sleep problem was psychological. (note: I've been diagnosed by a psychiatrist with chronic insomnia)
I asked him a year ago to pull my records from WA state.....I bet he didn't do it.
And last but not least.....after telling him that the pain med he gave me 6 months ago, does NOTHING, he in just increased it 2.5 mg. I also told him I had tried taking two of the other ones and it didn't work.
Super discouraged. Not sure what I'm going to do yet. DH wants me to make a trip back to WA and see if my dr. there can treat me from here.
I'm thinking maybe seeing a pain specialist here. There are no Rhumy's here, but there are 2.5 hrs. from here. That's an awfully long trip!

And no refills on my B-12 I can't be without that stuff. CFS is worse than ever now....take me off the shots and I won't be able to crawl out of the bed!
Raising two teen boys alone right now is really hard. I just had a talk with them about fighting and what it does to my stress level which equals pain.....what do they do?....yep....get into a fight! *sigh*
No insurance. Finances tight.
I'm thinking about applying for SSDI
Discouraged. Tired. Depressed. I feel like instead of a step forward he has pushed me back.

You aren't on SSDI yet? We'll..of course you need to start that process...it's a long one.
I'd be lying if I said I'm shocked by the sheer stupidity of your doc....just have heard this horrible scenario repeated too many times for too many folks.
Time to start a new doc hunt, Dixie....I guess you know that.
He has NOT pushed you back....he's pushed you to the point of figurimg out how to take your fight to a new arena.
You should probably start a diary of your symptoms, pain levels......
To help inform a new doc.
I'm so sorry you're having to deal with fighting for help on top of fighting pain and illness........
We'll be with you and offer all the collective advice and support of this group.....which is considerable.

Perhaps a call to the doc in WA, Or an e-mail, to see his willingness to treat you. (This is a long way to travel to get a "no".) I don't think being treated long-distance is that unusual. This would be my first move, if I were in your position.
Definitely need to find a new primary care doctor. This guy isn't even TRYING to help you.
A pain management specialist is an excellent idea, assuming the WA doc won't help. Can someone give you a referral?
May as well move forward with the SSDI application.
Try not to get discouraged or depressed. I find myself in a situation not unlike yours. My docs (primary and pain) either can't help me or won't. I am in terrible pain, and I don't know how to fix it.
Don't worry about the low body temp. This is not that uncommon.
You could try some subligual B12? May be just as effective?
Above all, try not to stress. As my husband always tells me, stressing will only make things worse.

that's disappointing about the MD. he doesn't sound competent. i hope you can find someone else. also you can get your old record in your hands. i took mine highlighted when i had to change MDs.
I would start the SSI process now and that way you can get on medicare and get some proper treatment. Your doctor does not seem to be listening to you. I would get a new doctor and make sure you get all those records as you will need them to apply for disability. In my state you can get a lawyer and when you win they will take out their amount from your back pay which i was glad to pay as they know how to work the system and I dont.
Start now! And find new doc! You need scans of that back girl! THAT is not fibro!

And someone else suggested the subligual B12 too...I will deff. look into it!

Tonna....Yep that was me! I wouldn't let him do CT scan on back...I know what that is. I was there today strickly for the Fibro mess.....It's gotten a LOT worse. Sciatica can go away on its own and nothing really to be done yet with the DDD. but thanks:)
I'm going to assume he 'forgot' as it was a lot of things I went to him for today. I will take the antibiotics. Try the increased pain meds. Hope this cortisone shot helps and then see him in two weeks and see if he gives me sleep meds then. If not, I will turn around and walk out the door. That is a major issue with pain. An extremely important part of treatment. Can't do without it.

SSDI definitely, and I would seek a PM specialist close to home.... it may help... Same boat with travel to my Rheumy, but worth getting the help I need...... (proper help)...
