Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Hey all, (long as usual)
I did not mean to leave ya all! I had just over a week of some of the worse pain I have had since I broke my back. I spent days where the muscles in my back were spasming so hard that two of my ribs were fractured. I have no clue what caused it and no clue why is stopped. All I know is that while it was happening all I could do was hunker down and pray to just die.
Obliviously I came out the other side of that ok, 'cides for the one rib that has not set right and I can wiggle it where it used to attach to my sternum. That means it was the cartridge that went, not the bone. The other one is already healed. Sigh.
A few other things are going on in my life that are just making it more annoyingly painful. My PM yanked me off my antipanic meds a few months ago. At first I thought I would be ok without them, but as of yesterday my new refill is in the mail. Having panic attacks that curl me up on the floor screaming several times a week are putting huge stresses on my back, which increases my pain. Just being that stressed puts me in more pain. Lastly on this front, I miss out on the slight pain relief afforded from the tranquilizers.
Then we have this schedule.. ug!! In trying to stay up nights with hubby while he is working graveyards, I have been munching. In the last 6 weeks I have gained 8 pounds. I hate that. I have enough weight I am trying to loose without adding more to the mix!
So why was I gone? A couple of reasons. First was me just hunkering down to get through the bad pain. Next it is that this place is dead at 3am in the morning! I will keep checking in a couple times a day, but as my days usually start at 2pm on the West Coast, I am not likely to be involved in any great conversations.
hugs to all!!
yadlim - and my back ITCHES!! I got another session on my full back tattoo on Tuesday and it itches!! Once it heals I will change my avatar. This avatar is several sessions behind.

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

Hope things get better :)
After the discussion we had about disability and how I have probably waited too long to apply, I have not tried to get off my butt yet and apply. I won't get a chance this month. Next month, next month I will get it done for sure!
I hate broken ribs. The one in my chest will pop in and out of place now with an audible SNAP that hubby had heard from five feet away. It is the second rib down on my sternum. OUCH that hurts!
I never thought I was into tattoos either... and then hubby got him and our daughter matching tattoos for her 18th birthday. I was the one making the stuff he was trading for the tattoos, so it was not too hard to talk me into getting the matching one.. Yeah, my artist is pretty sure I am going to wind up one of those people who are just COVERED in tattoos. I love the artwork. Oddly enough, because we are doing barter and trade for the tattoos, I only have a few hundred invested in materials for what should be several thousand dollars worth of tattoos between the three of us now.
Do you ever want to say things can't get worse? Don't, it is a challenge to the universe to add more crap to the pile!!
Gentle huggggss -Laurie
Sorry to hear about your pain etc...perhaps you could pre-make some of your husbands meals so you don't have to stay up for him?
(((HUGS)))
The other political stuff is to bounce back from being in the news [in a very bad way] and the changing of higher officials due to the media attention.
In short, I don't believe anything is to really HELP people but, I feel that way about EVERY health care system, hospital, physician, or nurse. Doesn't matter.
As an aside to that...on Facebook I am "friends" with many nurses. As a patient dealing with crappy medical care, I am not any more encouraged by what they post. Their rants about "needy" patients and assuming everyone is an addict contributes as much to the problem as anything else.
[end rant] ~sorry
I don't remember what muscle relaxants I have been on.. my mind is too much lately. Tonight I am trading mental acuity for pain relief. I know I have tried all that the VA offer. The only one that really worked for me is one that the VA is phasing out because of possible reactions with opiates.
I gave up tonight and took a tab of morphine. It calms the pain but I lose all ability to process information.
