Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I understand where you are coming from, but sometimes getting out of bed, doing some stretching exercises and maybe a walk around the block, will do you and your pain some good.
When I first hurt myself and after my 2nd spinal surgery I became so depress all I wanted to do was take meds, sleep and watch TV, nothing else! And then a friend of mine that is a Physical Therapist told me that I was causing myself more pain by staying in bed all day, and that I needed to get my walker and get out of the house!
Well after that wonderful advice, I started doing some more walking, Biofeedback, yoga, all little by little, and my depression and pain started to become more manageable. Medications are part of the chronic pain treatment, but they are not the only thing, any other complimentary therapies that you can do in conjunction with your medications are going to help you and your pain.
I know that you have a new pain Doctor that you are seeing soon, so let's hope that this new Doc gives you better meds, so that way you can start feeling better and you can do some of the other therapies that are going to help you get better in the near future. Take care and keep your chin up!
Hugs,
Tipper
