Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
What types of injury would you have that placed a metal rod in your back. What about your legs?...if they were trapped under the drivers seat while you were sitting in the passenger seat---you must have shattered your legs, fractured your femurs, possible pelvis damange etc?
I am sorry to have so many questions but, none of your story makes any sense to me.
Our bodies are like the cars they make these days where if one piece is hit it jams up into the rest of the body.
How long ago was the accident?
Sorry that some here aren't very supportive.
Have you told the doc how much pain you are still in? Maybe the surgery didn't work as well as they had hoped and you still need the meds.
Sorry you are in so much pain.
Hmmm...
I could understand your remark about some not being supportive based on this post only. Yet, tabbys written many posts most of which have baffling discrepancies. So many people including the person you thought was not supportive have been enormously kind and generous to tabby but as the discrepancies mount
Tabby, you describe a situation that sounds as if youre practically being held hostage by your parents. You said you gave birth and then later said youve never had a child? You said you have a court appointed legal guardian on account of serious physical and mental health conditions yet you receive no medical care and have had very few medical tests. You never mentioned a car accident or surgery before. This is a strange omission and also doesnt jive with the rest of your story.
Im afraid to ask what the truth is as I expect Ill hear another tale. Im sure theres truth to some of what youve said. If you are in pain I sincerely hope you get the help you need and if you are in the ER thats very good news.
I just dont know what to believe.
Tabby, I'm sure you're worn out from your tests today and in a lot of pain but I hope you come back and let us know how you're doing.
I've noticed that that's the way they get their kicks on this board by kicking others when they are down. Very sad. If you need support than you might investigate other great support boards here on DS.
I think people at this site are enormously compassionate, tolerant, kind
I guarantee you Im not looking for discrepancies. In this situation, theyre glaring.
Tabby, I dont doubt that you have real pain and I do hope you get the help you need.
But, yes I do doubt your stories.
Theres something that has clearly pressed my buttons here.
Maybe I should have done it sooner, but Ill withdraw from commenting further.
HOWEVER...
Many of us are frustrated not only with the lack of consistency but with the outright falsehoods she has been telling. On the Parenting board she talked about having two children and asked for advice on things to do for one of them.
Later, she admitted to not having any at all.
On the Pregnancy board she complained about her stomach pain. She said she'd given birth 5 weeks earlier. People encouraged her to go to the doctor. Later, she wrote again and said that she went to the doctor and they did an ultrasound and found another baby in her stomach and that she would give birth "any day."
A few hours after that she posted and said she was in labor. People were very upset for her, epecially after she she she had just given birth 5 weeks prior to that. Everyone was, again, very supported. She wrote (supposedly) all during her home labor and finally gave birth in her bath tub. The baby supposedly weighed 5 pounds.
For several days this went on with people sending her hugs and support and encouragement.
It was not true.
Many of the women on those boards are also members of the chronic pain, DD, and an assortment of the other boards that belongs and posts to. It has become discouraging to see her post things that are not true and to watch others try to give her advice and support. I know that personally the pregnancy thing bothered me because I have had a miscarriage myself and lost my 2 month old infant to SIDS and have been through real pain and suffering so to see someone make these things up after everyone went out of their way to help them does not set well with me.
Yes, she needs help. I'm not sure it is help that can be found on the chronic pain board.
Oh, and I live in Kentucky and have spent a lot of time in the hospitals (yes, plural) in Louisville. In fact, I have spent weeks there at a time with my daughter and my mother. I have yet to be in one where they allow laptops in the ER. In fact, there are signs posted everywhere stating that cell phone and laptop use are prohibited and they mostly cut off the wireless service in the ER area.
Before you start accusing other members of not being supportive, please keep in mind that this is a trend that has a lot of people exhausted, people that are in pain and really need support for it.
