From what I understand, it happened over a week ago. They were waiting on a DNA match to confirm it. And the USA is in possession of the body. I am truly EXCITED they finally got him. My only other thought, what are the repercussions going to be from his followers? That is a scary thought.

I just turned my TV on to ABC news, and when I heard the word, I was sooooo happy! This is wonderful news not only to us civilians, but specially men and women in our armed forces, and all of those families that lost family members in the 9/11 attack!

Just got done watching it and they said they have the body just hope it was him and not an impostor. I am sure it is or they would not of jumped the gun and reveled it if they did not have strong evidence it was him.

I really dont think anything would happen and if it did it would not be for months for them to do it. From what I understand is he was the one who held the money and the second in command does not have enough power to do something like 911. I hope anyways.

From the reports here the attack was done on Friday morning (Pakistani time) and DNA testing has been done and they say that it is confirmed that it is bin Laden and that his body was buried as per Muslim requirements within the 24 hours of death. That it was buried at sea somewhere so that his grave would not become a shrine for his followers.
There will be payback for this somewhere somehow - they will not let this go. There will undoubtedly be some chest-beating within al Qaeda to gain the leadership unless there is an anointed successor apart from his son who was reportedly killed with him.
Only time is going to give us many of the answers in this but I do feel that we are in for one bumpy ride in the meantime as his follower seek revenge for his death.
Be very careful - especially those who travel as you never know where they are going to attack next - just look at the two attacks in Bali (aimed mainly at Australia), the one in England and other smaller ones all around the globe.

I'm delighted they got the bum, but this isn't the end of anything. It's probably only the beginning. They'll retaliate, there's no doubt about that. We'll have to be very vigilant, that's for sure.

You ever think about what they are not telling us, and if there was a danger to the people if and when we will here about it. Alot of politics is what they want us to know is what they will tell us. Last night during the press conference I swear I heard him say that they were going to do DNA now someone wrote that it has been done and already buried at sea.
