Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. Please thank your friend for posting this. I love peppermint in any form; my SIL just gave me a bottle of peppermint body wash- I wonder if it will help too. Peppermint tea is my favorite tea.
I've never made a rub but our store carries fresh peppermint and I'll be sure to put it on our shopping list for our next trip
The others will be harder for me to get as there is no health store anywhere near us- but there's always the internet!
I'll try anything that means less narcotics. And these old remedies often work as well if not better than the new, chemically filled rubs and creams out on the market.

I used to use Peppermint oil, but my skin got sensitive to it. It is very good for joint pain such as in the hand, clearing sinuses by putting a dab under the nose, or helping with a migraine by massing it into the temples.
The sister oil to Peppermint is Eucalyptus. it is not quite a smelly strong, but works very similarly. I know that a few drops mixed with a dab of any lotion rubbed into my achy arthritic hands, helps relieve some of the joints when rubbed into them as well.
Lavender is my favorite as is helps muscle rigidity, tenseness and spasms. it is a natural relaxant. Mostly I rub it on the back of my neck and put a bit of heat over it and it seems like my spasms just melt away. Works well on any muscle, even the jaw.
Just wanted to add a bit to Tabby's post. Organics are great!
Love and gentle hugs,
Jenna
For example:
Willow is the natural asprin. It is used to lower fever, reduce inflamation, and relieve pain.
Sound familiar: this is what researchers used to develop the better fever reducer that we all know as asprin.
So combining this if you are already on an asprin regiment could create problems
Sometimes these natural are better and stronger than the man made drugs we trust today.
