When I was reading about suboxone yesterday I remember them saying that you can take both as long as you take them separately. Maybe you just need to increase your dose? When do you speak to your doctor again?

as you know I take methadone, my doc told me when I started on it that he needed to start me on a very low does and work up from there. That is a really low does I take 2 10mg tabs every 8 hours I would call the doc and say it's not working and you need it uped also I take lortab 7.5/500mg 4 a day so you can also ask for a breakthrough med too. I used to take 5 5mg oxycodone IR but it was doing more harm then good so I got off of it. but anyways I would call your doc asap tommrow before you suffer through a very long weekend. I am sorry your going through all this my friend

well, I will start the whole tab at night a few days early then, I do have oxy if I need it, so I wont have a bad weekend, I hope! thanks for responding though.

bad bad methadone, i have been getting headaches, everyday, increased my dose, worse headaches, nausea, excessive sweating, stopping it, I cant have headaches and my pain!

My PMs partner tried me on Meth. but with nothing for breakthru. It would not touch my muscle pain for some reason. I really think if he would have allowed me to take the oxy along with the Meth it may have worked my many doctors wont mix the 2 together.
I had the same reaction on morphine, I was on 45mg x1 & 30mg x1,
3 attempts to increase & each one put me in bed with horrific headaches & some vomiting depending on the form of morphine.

Some have sworn by Methadone & especially when allowed the break thrus. Perhaps calling the pharmacist, I do know it has to increase very slowly.

I damn near died taking Methadone. I was on the lowest dose for about 3 weeks or so. I thought I had the stomach flu....stopped taking my meds, woke up naked in the hospital...

Please be very careful about stopping Methadone suddenly. While I must admit that I do laugh about some of my hospital antic's....it was scary then how close to dying I really was:-/

I did not like methadone. Too many medical pros believe it is just for addicts.

can't help you on your actual question..but..yamay want to either spell out methadone or find another abbreviation........".on my eighth day of meth".....could getya busted from round where i'm at:):):).just a thought.

Sometimes it takes a bit for meds to get into our system to help but if you are having really bad headaches and throwing up I would call doctor as it seems when you upped so did the side effects I dont want you to be anymore sick then you need to be.

Now why did you start the methadone was the other meds not helping anymore or did the doctor switch thinking it would help you more.

Take care and get some rest and just relax do not try to do to much around the house till you can get this straighten out

I stopped taking it, and feel better already. I did put a note in to my doc, telling her how it made me feel. she wanted me to try something longlasting instead of all short.

OK, did not want to tell you this part before. But the withdrawal symptoms are really bad if you ever need to change from this med!
A nurse during emergency admit to hospital decided this med is "only" for "addicts" and refused to order it for me until I was suffering symptoms. She of course falsly claimed that this was "proof" of me being an "addict".
By the time my PM called the hospital, I had already check out AMA. I found a new PM the next month. It was horrible!
That was just my experience. Others here have found great help with this medication. That is why i hesitated to share until you said you feel better off the med.

I'd suggest that you try something long acting that could be taken every 12 hours. There are other long acting out there. Not every med works the same.

i'd also suggest being a little more careful about the abbreviations. I know you mean methadone. But there are people in doctors offices who would write you off without a thought. Most of them are the ones who have to make your way thru before you get to the doc.

I would hate to see you get judged by some tech at the front desk and sent away before you could see a doctor. Kinda like the nurse who treated me poorly.

I tried methadone diddnt do much for me, I have tried everything except pain patches and i found that dilauded workes best for me and the sides are minimal, but everyone is different so good luck and i hope you find something that helps you

I didnt go through withdrawls, but I was taking short acting also, I wouldnt ever abbre. methadone at my clinic, dont worry.
