Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I'm sorry I'm not much help. But a lawyer is free for the first visit. Also can you talk to your land lord and tell him/her it is only temporary.
Good luck.
So, your voice slurred, that's a part of your health condition, or ask your doctor about it. If so, ask him to write a letter to that effect. You'd think they would put you on light duties where your speech does not effect your duties?
You say you have not had any disciplinaries, write ups prior to this? Also, do you have FMS too? Slurred speach is a part of FMS. I haven't taken medication in almost a year, and still have it.
Do you have a union or union rep?
Do you have an employees association where legal representation is available?
Is this workmans comp?
You say medical leave, for 4 months, then reevaluations. Doesn't sound like your terminated, just on medical leave.
Is that with pay? Slow down, breathe deep. Call and have them explain it to you.
Can you call your apartment manager and explain the situation, pay a late fee?
Explain your situation?
Do you have an employee handbook that explains what your companies medical leave is, I would assume that is wish pay and insurance. Call back on Monday and ask them to explain to you just what medical leave means, is it leave without pay or leave with benefits, don't be upset with them, talk nice, don't rock the boat, if your not satisfied with the answer, yes, by all means, contact an attorney. If it's paid medical leave with insurance, kick back and enjoy the rest.
I'm sorry this is happening to you, employement problems are such a bitch when your sick.
THANK YOU ALL. GOOD NIGHT.
The problem with CP is that it makes you so vulnerable, and when you are vulnerable it is so hard to think straight or make the type of decisions you need to make in this type of situation. Have someone close to you & that you trust help you with the choices you make. If they won't give you anything in writing, conceal a small recorder some where to document what is being said to you, and also that you can listen back to to be sure of what was said.
I am so sorry for your troubles and hope it will resolve itself in a way that you will not get dumped on! Best of luck and I will be praying for you!
Ouch
Get letters from you friends/coworkers that believe you can still do your job and if you can get a letter from any of them that may have seen you on the day in question.
Just to cover your basis I would apply for SSD because it can take 3-5 months to get it. But if a lawyer advises against it then don't do it.
Google Americans with disabilities act and read about your rights also usually some organizations that help people with disabilities for free or at least will help over the phone so that you understand your rights.
Good luck I wish you well and I hope you know that the members of this group are with you.
But don't forget while you are going through this extremely stressful event take some moments for yourself to try and relax take a hot bubble bath or soak your feet. Maybe find some lavender and chamomile because these are soothing herbs they can help you relax and sleep.
Take care you are in my prayers.
I agree with most others that you ought to see a lawyer. Also, research the ADA. Learn your rights. Fight for them.
