Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

But..YEEEAAAAH for you!

That's so nice to hear. Good news is rare for us..

it's so great to hear that they are out there.
wishing you sweet dreams!
I have a sitter here today as my foot and knee needed a day of bedrest, and I also wanted to be able to take the meds as needed w/o worrying that some ambien remained in my system or the extra pill I'm allowed didn't make me loopy. So far, nope- no remaining drowsiness, no side effects. And the additional pill just helped my pain, nothing else.
I'm at a bit higher pain level than normal, but that is what a flare IS. I'm just glad the sitter is here and my son adores her and I can just chill in bed, watch tv, read, etc. And rest. If I get tired, I can SLEEP! No caffeine needed today! ;)
I'm shocked at the difference between taking just enough meds to make me functional, and taking what is NEEDED to make me human again. Putting up with pain that I didn't need was silly. I'm still below the daily mg's I took before seeing this doc, but I'm able to get the pain down to a 2-3 already. Of course, I'm in bed and haven't done a full day's cycle, so I expect to be at 90% by tomorrow.
The sleep helped more than anything! I just NEEDED a full night's sleep. And I'll nap if needed today. (I had to wake early to let the sitter in- I could go for a few more hour's sleep.) And what is great is that I didn't wake up! I ALWAYS wake up. Always. But last night I slept 11 hours w/o waking once. THAT is a miracle.
I'm going to lay back down and chill out. I need to elevate the knee a bit, but other than that, it's a good day. :)
Thanks again!
Enjoy..!!!!!
Hugs..jc
glad you have a sitter so that you can relax and keep that leg up. glad your son loves her, too. bet you feel like a new person! (except for the flare - sorry bout that).

NOW I face the few problems that need to be dealt with. I'm a BIT miffed b/c I fill my prescriptions (by contract with my doc) at the pharmacy near his office. Well, they didn't have MSContin yesterday. I had enough to last me a few days but now I have to make sure I rest another day b/c I need to drive back and get it Friday. I would've done it tomorrow but couldn't get the sitter till Friday.
I don't GET how the system doesn't keep track of that stuff. I mean, I've filled it every month for over a year and they're OUT? She offered me my scrip back after I asked if they could mail or fedex it to me, but I said I'd fill it there. I don't break rules, but seriously, why can't they fedex it? My old pharmacy did. I was willing to pay.
So Friday I'm back on the road, about an hour each way depending on traffic. Sometimes it's 40 minutes. Traffic seems to be the indicator. But it's truly a relaxing drive and it's nice to listen to MY music and not argue about the sound or the channel, etc. I can listen to Oprah's Sirius station or Broadway or listen to Elvis all day if I want. (Seriously- they have an ALL Elvis station, LOL!) Where have I been all this time? Last year it was the Casey Anthony trial I listened to on HLN. Wonders never cease.
But I'm NOT complaining b/c it's a small price to pay for a great CP doc. And now hopefully, another good night's sleep! ;)
