I m so sorry to hear you are having pain... It is difficult to live with that.
I have never been addicted, but I am constantly doing things to make sure it doesn't happen.
Basically it involves not only dealing with medical issues at hand, but also seeking help to resolve past psychological trauma and depression. Unresolved past problems make it hard to deal with current difficulties.
hope that the doctor does not find that you are abusing your meds and cut you off cold turkey....
It sounds like you have an addictive nature, so finding something else to help with your pain is probably going to be difficult as all pain meds, even the psych meds used off label are addictive.
If you sit down and have a talk with your Dr. they may be able to come up with a plan to control your pain and keep you on medication. Your on a very low dose med right now. Tylenol with codeine is barely anything as far as strength of medication goes. He may be able to come up with some type of rotation plan where you change meds every so many days to avoid addiction.
You also need to see a counselor or therapist and deal with your part of this. Your the one who is choosing to abuse these medications and only you can work on that issue and overcome it.
It's hard enough getting drs to take pain seriously without having addiction on file...

Drs can't help much with addiction.
