I had a genicular nerve ablation on my left knee do to high grade cartilage loss. Since the loss is only high grade in 1 compartment and medium in others they will not do replacement. The ablation only helped a few weeks.Think is may have just been the local keeping pain in check. Either way I still have severe chronic pain in that knee. My pain doc wants to do denervation. I can't find much on it online. I am wondering if this should be done by surgeon instead of pain doc/anesthetist. I called the ortho docs office and the assistant said it would be fine done by him,but I don't know. Not sure what is involved.

Hopefully stops my knee pain. I don't know what it is exactly. That's what I am trying to find out.
