one thing that made such a diffrence for me was a good lawyer and doctors on my side:)

Doing this through a lawyer is really the best way, hardly anyone gets approved without one. They're just better at getting all the Dr.'s reports and paperwork needed.

Thanks so much for your prayers and good thoughts. I may need a miracle, but I'm a believer in miracles.

When I got mine, I got refused the first time which is the standard now because there are so many people who are applying for it who aren't disabled. They ruin it for the ones who are. I just reapplied, I had all my reports and films from the drs. I had to meet with their doctors which wad fine and I got it. It took me a while but I hot everthing retroactive and I didn't use an attorney who would have taken 1/3 off the top. I got a year and a half retroactive so it was well worth it for me.

I wish you the best of luck, but don't be surprised if you get turned down because just about everyone does the first time.

Ann, how did today go ?

Thanks for asking. Actually, it went well. Everyone was very nice to me and they weren't treating me as if I was a potential faker. The psychologist wasn't all that interested in my "anxiety and depression." It was mainly a cognative test. Boy, I was really at my worst. Even though I am claiming cognative problems, I was really embarrassed and blushing at how badly I did. At one point she gave me seven number to repeat backwards, and I just looked at her because I blanked out. The I remember one number and said "7." I hope I'm not always that bad, but she sure saw what I meant. Then I dropped by the Social Security office to give them some more material. There had been a mix up about a questionaire about my activities which I hadn't received, so she basically filled it out. At the end I was asking her did they receive everything, and she said, "you don't have to worry about anything."

I'm trying not to get my hopes up that I'll make it on the first pass, and even if I do I don't know when I will get a check.

Thanks again for prayers and information. I was less of a nervous wreck, knowing what to expect.

Ann, thanks for the update. It is always better to know something about what to expect. Fear of the unknown just makes everything worse.
