Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Do you have a good Dr? Maybe you can bring your H in the room and the Dr can explain why you feel the way you do. Why things are the way they are. Its almost impossible for someone that DOESNT have CP to understand fully... they just think get over it and get on with it and its not fair to compare - because you cant. Would someone say to a diabetic... "you dont need that insulin... just get on with your day and forget about it." NO they wouldnt say that becuase that would be a ridiculous statement.
You need some people around where you are that are on your own team because quite frankly ... you are not getting it and probably wont get it from the people around you right now.
Maybe think of yourself first and do what YOU need to do to feel better because its that much harder to heal when you have roadblocks like these ignorant people that get in your way.
AH I wish you all the luck and hope I can send you - you deserve it.
As far as the what is Normal? There isnt one my dear... its what is normal for YOU because we all have different situations -
I wish you the very best~

My husband goes thru "fits" occasionally and he goes on about me never doing anything around the house, him having to take care of me etc. (of course other times he is so sweet, loving and supportive). I have done the doing to much so i paid for it with pain because of his occasional rants. I keep my pain complaints, my fears of whats going on etc to myself, well away from him. That way i never hear all i do is complain. I start therapy soon. I am looking forward to it. Good thing is that he is also starting therapy soon, as ordered by his PM dr.
You hang in there. Take care of yourself. Your husband has two hands and legs right? (i hope). If he does he is more than capable of doing things that you cant. As to comments made by others. one day maybe just tell them that they should be glad they dont have any of your pain, that you love them enough that you wouldnt give them your pain for even an hour. That you would appreciate the support rather that the belittling. sorry for the lonnnnnnnggggggg reply...i know how you feel. you can talk to me anytime you want ok....

on a good day i get up. Sit down take my meds and drink a few cups of java. Make my bed. and clean the cat box. I have to sit back down by then. If i am havign an ok day, i will try to do some dishes, sweep, time to sit back down again. I cook rarely anymore, it hurts to badly to stand that long. i spend the majority of my time in the recliner, reclined with my heating pad. I hate it but thats how it is. I normally end up taking a nap during the day because of my afternoon dose of meds. I am on the fentanyl patch 50mcg/hr every 48 hours i change it, 150mg lyrica 3x a day, tegretol 400mg 2x a day, methadone 2x a day, paxil at night and i just started chantix to help me stop smoking.
I have learned what my abilities are, i do all i can and sometimes i still push it but thats it.
