Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
With the chronic pain i have learnt to say no when the pain gets bad and i cant go to things or do things.
My family is good and have learnt about chronic pain as well.
Stress will make your pain worse.
My kids have learnt as well about pain and things i can do and dont get upset when i say no to things when i'm not to it.
Im just going to ditto what Krissy said because thats exactly it...IF they cant repect you and what you are dealing with then sccccaarrrreeewww ummmm ... they arent on time but yet get po'd because you cant do what they want? Yeah riiiggghhttt time to say ...................123 NOOOOO~~
*Now... I have to learn to practice what I preach because I have a hard time saying NO myself ...so Im right there with ya....
*I really hope things get better for you!
I'm really sorry you're having a rough time right now, and I hope that fentanyl has kicked in to give you some major relief. I don't know anything about fentanyl or any diarrhea that it causes, but perhaps adding a fiber supplement to your diet (and eating some high-fiber foods) would help counteract that side effect. You don't want to start burning your bum-hole raw with diarrhea, that's for sure.
It sounds as if your family treats you (1) badly and (2) as a child. Your sister thought it was funny that you fell down the stairs twice? I'm sorry, maybe you guys have a different kind of humor, but that demonstrates cruelty and ignorance about your condition. Also, your mother in law "yelled at" you? Are you a 12 year old who needs to babysit to get her allowance? You got yelled at for sleeping in? Who can yell at you in your own house? Also, your husband wants the place picked up when he gets back? Or else what? You'll get a spanking?
Listen, I care about what happens to you, and you sound really scared and frankly, emotionally abused. What would happen if you did as Krissy suggested and was completely up front with your husband and the rest of your family about your limits? Are you willing to do this? Would it make you scared or feel guilty? Are you scared about what your husband or family might do? What do you think would happen? Letting everyone in on your limits sounds like precisely what you NEED to do to avoid going nuts and have any sort of enjoyment! I know you say that you'd do anything for anyone, so please consider doing this for yourself!
I'm here if you want to talk about this....
With lots of caring,
Orchid
I would give advice but i am right with you on this, so i can only say you are not alone.
Its hard and people don't care about anything but themselves and when we want to care about ourselves they are pissed off about it.
Not fair I know---- you are doing the right thing about saying you cant babysit i need a set of what you have so i can say no also LOL
take care--- and brush it off what your mother in law thinks she wants the foster children so she should take care of them.
The fentynyl patch must be worn continuously not just when you start feeling horrible. Nothing can help at that point. You have to stay ahead of the pain. If you need to sub on a regular basis, you might want to try the special ed classes. The majority of them have an assistant who knows how to run the class and you would just help out. That way you could sit and help one student at a time, and get up and walk around when you needed to.
Maybe you need to take this semester off and start looking at your options. #1. Take care of yourself, #2. Do I need to stay in a marriage where I am not appreciated and bullied on a daily basis?, #3. What do I need to do in order to say "no" to people who take advantage of me?
Everyone has given you some good suggestions, but in the final analysis, you have to start making some changes in your life. The stress is killing you.
