Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

I'm not sure it's been around long enough for long term studies but if you find something, please let me know. Hugs, Dianna
For instance: I have endometriosis and adenomyosis. I was diagnosed through laparoscopy in 2005. After my daughter was born, in 2007, my doctor suggested the Mirena IUD stating there was considerable promise for endo sufferers. This was the very best thing I EVER did. I have had a Mirena IUD in place since 2007 (of course I had it changed after 5 years) and I have had ZERO endo pain since. Zero. Not even one single day. There is a school of thought that not having a menstrual cycle is unhealthy. While this is medically unfounded, I don't care. For me, the benefit of this COMPLETELY outweighs any and all risk. I researched and found all risks with the Mirena were small and worth not dealing with pain 15 days out of the month. It has given me the ability to focus on my other CP issues. I don't know where I'd be without this treatment...probably would have had a hysterectomy as my doctor said trying this was my last resort before having a hysterectomy. I was too young (I was 27 at the time) to consider having a hysterectomy so I opted to try it and am SO glad I did.
Anyway, what I meant to express was there may be treatments you may not have heard of or previously considered that may hold potential for you that you can discuss with your doctor. I still deal with CP from other issues but I'm glad I at least don't have the endo/adeno pain on top of it.
Hope you find the information you are looking for!
