Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

other thing sometimes is cognitive psychotherapy too...I used that for a lot of years with shrink and he saved my life by finding just the right medication to help relieve my schizophrenia back in early 1982
Do right by yourself, see a Psychiatrist, if you don't already have one, so that they can properly evaluate the situation and get you the best help as well as teach you coping skills to deal with all that your going through.
take care,
Depression sucks and I am so tired of it trying to be my friend..
Flexeril which is a widely used Muscle Relaxer, when it was first put on the market, back in the day, was put out as an Anti-Depressant. It was re-marketed as a Muscle Relaxer. It works very well as an Anti-Depressant, I actually work with my Pdoc, who is a Board Certified Psychiatrist, Board Certified Neurologist and has a Sub-Specialty Certification in Medication Management, and use Flexeril off-label as the Anti-Depressant in my 5med Bipolar Cocktail, and its the only Anti-Depressant I take. For a designation of "Bipolar w/Severe Suicidal Depression/Ideology", that's a pretty big deal.
The fact that I get the double benefit as a Muscle Relaxer is a bonus.
So, to answer your question, No, Muscle Relaxers do not normally cause Depression. Narcotics, yes they can contribute to depression and often make it worse if dosages are increased or medications added.
