...and I did too much yesterday. Sigh. I just pretended that I was fine and did not have a crushed spine because there were things that had to get done. I carried tack to the SUV. I walked for better than an hour as we milled around making sure we had everything.
Then I backed the SUV to hitch the trailer.. that sounds odd, but it hurts. My back does not bend like it used to, and rotating my torso to back up to exactly match up the ball and hitch is agony. I was having issues with it, and even though my daughter was ground directing me, I went back and forth for over half an hour. We gave up and switched. That put me standing at the front of the trailer, leaning down to make sure that the ball was in just the right place (this trailer is so hard to hitch!!). It was agony, but we finally got it hitched.
Then it was ground guide my daughter as she drove out of the parking area. Once the trailer was pulled around, we walked back to the other side of the property and pulled the horses.
I got less than a quarter of the way from the horse pasture to the trailer and just crumpled to the ground. Luckily I have a really good horse and he just nudged me once and started munching on some grass. Someone else came and got my horse, no one likes me to have a horse when I am curled up on the ground desperately trying to get air into my lungs. Did I mention I have a really good horse??
By the time I got up and managed to walk to the SUV, the horses were loaded and the safety checks done. I just curled up in the passenger seat, took my pain killers, turned on my heated seat, and tried to breath. We were an hour down the road and almost to the new stable before I noted where we were.
At the new stable, I had to walk around to find someone to show me where to put the horse trailer. That was a good 200 yards of walking there. Then my daughter took both horses to their new pasture while I parked the trailer. My daughter hauls it fine, but she can't back a straight line with a trailer to save her life.
That should have been enough movement for one day... but I just could not sit. A couple hours later found me packing. I got three large bins packed before my back once again just stopped holding me up.
That was twice in one day I pushed my spine with crushed vertebrae until it just stopped working.

I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident. I learned that the song won an award and was featured in an indie movie called Once. I just watched it, and it's really good. They made it in 3 weeks on a $100,000 budget. It's streaming on...

yeah, I have taken today VERY slow. That was just plain stupid yesterday. I know WHY I did it.. I am also BiPolar and I am manic so I am not thinking straight. It causes bad decisions. Today pain kept me in check.
Yes, horses are incredibly souls. They absolutely know if you want to be roudy or if you just need a soft shoulder to cry against. There are those horses are are not great, but the ones who are are worth their weight in gold!!
Today I went out to the stable and just calmly brushed tangles out of manes. It was SO relaxing!! Then it was home and back to bed! Now I am up again and spending time with hubby.
hugs all!
