In exactly the same boat at the moment, just started a mental health plan, so flippers crossed.

I agree with everyone here. You really should talk to your doctor about some other options, however, with any medicine, I think that a couple of weeks would be a better time frame in determining if it is working for you.
I hope you get to feeling better and can get some sleep! I am a night owl myself (due to my pain issues) and have been for many years. Sleeping aides haven't helped me so I just stay up at night while my family is sleeping which sort of has it's benefits because it is nice to have everything quiet sometimes.
