Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
So many people are still on the fence as to whether he really is in the peodophile catagory regardless of such little and subjective evidence. The general populace wanted so bad to beleive something bad about the weird guy, that prior to this incident, so many stories were made up about him prior to this and nothing stuck. The lies were already begun. Plus, his excentric freeloading family made things worse by upping the weirdness. In the end, the allegations didn't add up and the accuser was questionable.
It didn't matter because by the time the dust settled on the case, Michael's career and self esteem was ruined. What is the truth? Probably not as haneous as the media made it out to be.
Well, that is my opinion of the way I seen the story went.
Great quote and food for thought.
I wonder if anyone has had a person experience with a lie gone wild?
Sammy
I love the quote. Cherry.
We won't talk about my teen years and my Mother......I was quite creative!
I'm sure I told fibs as very small kids tend to do, but lies? Back when my mom and are were in Teen Hell, I tried to lie about something & she knew. She just knew. So I admitted it right away! I don't recall who emphasized honesty so much in our home, probably my Grandpa. But as kids we knew we'd be in big trouble if we weren't honest. Luckily, I was a good kid. I never had to try and got great grades, which was good for high school but a tragic discovery in college when I had to learn how to study! Then again, that was expected of me.
My mom told my hubby this story on my 30th birthday, may she rest in peace. "Jen was always a good kid. If she was going to be even 5 minutes late, she would call. She always told me where she was going, whom she was with and when they'd be back. But her brother never picked up a phone and I worried about him so much. He got in trouble once for knocking over a soda machine with a bunch of kids at school. He was arrested, ya know."
WHAT??? This was HUGE as no one in our family had brushes with the law, and it was kept from my father who had once been a teacher and coach at our school, and was a Superintendent of Schools at the time! Bro completed a community project and he was only 14 so no record of the misdemeanor, but I was shocked I hadn't heard of it before! I wasn't dishonest but I WAS a good gossip! I made it to 30 w/o hearing that story!
At this point I was shocked as I'd thought my mom had no troubles with my brother! I knew he was dishonest with ME but my Mom and Dad? He was allowed to get lower grades which was not fair, but I honestly recall my 30th birthday b/c of the story she told of my honesty and my bro's dishonesty. To be fair he WAS a teen and he is now a teacher! Talk about Karma! ;)
Lying is SO not worth the effort! Even people who call houses for charities know that one is lying when they say "I don't have time to talk!" Okay, maybe once in awhile, but every day? I just tell the truth. "The economy is such that we've cut back charitable donations to just one." Sometimes they'll remind me what I gave last year, etc., but I say the same thing in a different manner. "I know we've supported you in the past but we just don't have it to spend this year. If things turn around, we'll remember you." They never call back!
That is SO much easier than saying "dinner's burning" or "I'm changing a diaper", etc. These are my cousin's lines and I LOL every time b/c I know they'll just call her back. Easier to tell the truth b/c you're not having to remember what you lied about, and in most situations (unless it hurts someone) then honesty is best.
And might I add- SO important when dealing with pain docs! I've never lied to my doctors and never will. I expect them to treat ME with respect, then they get respect as well. Besides, why lie when honesty is so much easier?
And I HONESTLY didn't know this post would be so long, LOL!
