I was not a candidate because I was not going to pass the mental part of it.
I had been told by the surgeon, who did not know of my PTSD issues, that it would provide fantastic relief to me for years. So hang in there, sounds like help might be on the way!!
I used to scrub in for a some when i worked for a neurosurgeon.
When you go home after the procedure, keep really detailed records of your pain/activity/ stim on-off times . It will help you figure out if it is worth it .
Psych eval is nothing complicated at all. It will be quick.
Grammybear- It is sciatic pain, but mine is from piriformis syndrome... not from a disk issue : / So it took a LONG time to diagnose, and by that time it has become chronic- no longer a simple condition cured by physical therapy.
