Just wondering if anyone's ever taken Tramadol (Zytram)? I'm in the middle of another EXTREME pain flare up, and have given in to my pain specialist's recommendation that I start taking pain meds on a regular basis for the first time. He's started me on a low dose Tramadol (150 mg per day) to try for 1 month. I feel pretty dizzy and yicky and overalll "drugged" but they are helping the pain somewhat at times (although I still hurt somewhat). I'm not sure if I'm safe to drive, but I have an appointment i have to go to in a couple of hours, so I'm going to try (I'll turn back and call a taxi if I can't drive). Anyways, do any of you have any experience with this drug?

I think it is also called Ultram. I tried it awhile back. I don't remember it being very helpful. Someone told me it is supposed to help with headaches. You can't always go by what someone says though. What works for one person may not work for another :)

I tried it once and it did nothing for me. It just wasn't strong enough to help with my pain.

I'm on this. It works for me. However on days when i have a flare-up i use my vicodin.

Along with muscle relaxant. Some days are worse than others. I haven't renewed my drs. license. It's been a year and they are starting to cover up the pain to a level of 8. I think I'm starting to build a tolerance to the tramadol.

Did nothing for me at all. But with other root causes of pain, I have to be on other meds.

I took it for 5 years. It worked great during that time. It is not considered an opiate and wasn't addictive for me. I am on morphine now, the disease has progressed that bad. Yet morphine has given me back my life.

It made me sweat like menopause...and did nothing for the pain
