Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) Support Group

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (or "chronic lymphoid leukemia") CLL, is a cancer in which too many lymphocytes (a type of white blood cells) are produced. CLL is the most-diagnosed form of leukemia in adults. Men are twice as likely to develop CLL as women, however the key risk factor is age: over 75% of new cases are diagnosed in patients over age 50.

Stage 0 CLL symptoms

Hi, I am a 63 year old female, who was diagnosed with CLL, stage 0, in January, 2016. Ironically my mother, was also diagnosed with CLL at the same age. She is no longer with us. I am fatigued and sometimes have night sweats, otherwise I am in fairly good shape. My lymph nodes are not enlarged. I thought at stage 0 that I would not have any symptoms so am surprised by the fatigue, not really bothered by the night sweats. I do not have another white cell count until August. My Mom passed away at the age of 72 from an infection of unknown origon and after gall bladder surgery. I feel that I more physically active and in better shape than she was. My doctor feels that I could live for decades. Have any of you had another family member who also had CLL? thanks

I am 61 female and was just diagnosed at stage 0. I too am suffering with fatigue but can't decide if it's ALL or me being considerably overweight. Either way some days I feel like I'm going to die from fatigue. I work Mon to Fri and rest up on weekends. Husband is retired so he does stuff around house because I just can't

Hi Palisades. I was diagnosed with CLL at age 62 in 2013 and put on watch and wait. My mother also had it. Diagnosed at 64 and passed away 9 years later. She did not die of CLL though but with a heart attack having lived with angina for 35 years.

That gives be hope...I am a 67 year old male and was just diagnosed with CLL in Oct. 18, 2018. I too was experiencing fatigue but my oncologist said it was not related to my CLL. Have allergies, which were waking me up a night. Currently, attempt to resolve this problem.

I have been stage zero for over nine years now. No one in my immediate family has had CLL, but I had a second cousin on each side with it. Both lived well into their middle eighties and died of other things. I am now 67 and while I don't have the energy level I used to, I think I have to blame that on being fat and out of shape, not the CLL!

Hi! I am 61 year old woman, I was diagnosed April of 2013 my sister was diagnosed after I told her what I was diagnosed with. She was 69 and passed away May 30th of 2018. She had chemo and regained her strength and her lifestyle then she relapsed and was on chemo pills everyday. She had a severe pain in her leg she could not walk I drove her to the hospital on mother’s day May 11 th
She had had bronchitis for months it had cleared up, she became nuetropenic she had many transfusions she looked good her counts were up the same day she was in critical condition and had sepsis she was on a ventilator and died the next day. I miss her so. Now I try to live each day with love in my heart and no grudges life is too short.

Hi, I am a 67 year old male, who was diagnosed with CLL on Oct 18, 2018. Currently, my oncologist has taken a wait and see approach. Today (Feb 11, 2018) I am scheduled to under go a CAT-scan to see if I have enlarged lympnose. Next week I'll be visiting my oncologist to get the results of the CAT-scan and a Fish test. At which time. we'll determine what his long term prognosis is. From there I'll take all lab and test results for a second opinion.
