Outside of the technical "norm" as well at 42. Still not in treatment so I don't have any advice per se, but it does seem like advancements are being made quickly in treatment which is a positive.

I am 42 too

Seems there are a lot of people being diagnosed at younger ages. While I am 61, I feel 42. I run and go to the gym. My doctor also diagnosed me from a routine check up. Since I went a few years without bloowork they aren't sure when I started developing this, but the last labs from 2011 suggest I had it then. I am stage 0 also so don't have a lot of advice except to live a good lifestyle with healthy eating and exercise. And continue to look forward to all the good things happening in your life.

I was just diagnosed yesterday. I'm 49. It's just scary not being able to do anything but wait.

Hello, I joined this support group for support for my husband and myself, his caretaker. He is 41 years old and was diagnosed last October with Stage II CLL. He started with one large lymphoma under his armpit and then after scans found out they were throughout his body along his lymphatic system, everywhere. We have been to Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA and our local oncologist (NYOH). Mikey was in the watch and wait stage up until August when he became symptomatic. He started getting night sweats and fevers that reached as high as 105. He was hospitalized for a little over a week to control his fevers and to hydrate him. He then had 2 biopsies to confirm that his CLL did not transform to DLBCL. Unfortunately, the trial we were hoping to get in at Dana Farber was not open at the time he needed it and had to start treatment at our local oncologist in October. Since August, everything has happened so fast. He is now going into his 3rd cycle of FCR treatment. So far, he has not had a bad reaction to the treatment. He experiences fatigue, nausea and bone pain for 2 weeks out of the month. The worst he experienced were the symptoms of the CLL prior to his treatment. My husband has lost 66 lbs since August as his appetite has decreased immensely, which is expected. My advice is to research as best as you can and go to a cancer institute. Have a list of questions prepared even during your watch & wait stage. We never thought his W & W stage would be over so soon but, he is battling so strong now. Dana Farber has already scheduled a bone marrow biopsy in May after his 6 months of treatment. We are hoping he will be in remission for years after this chemo. We were told by his Dr. they are aiming for 2 years. We have a 4 year old daughter and own a lawn care/snow plow business. I pray every day for the good days as the bad have outweighed the good. This is our reality and I have been looking for a support group online for an outlet for him as well. I was diagnosed 4 years ago at 42. And now at 46 I've remained a stage 0 with no other symptoms other than high WBC.. and pray I stay this way until there's a cure. I have two small children a 6 yr old daughter and 22 month old son. I'm just trying to eat the healthiest I can exercise and put it in the background. After the initional shock and 6 months worth of research I just try and let go of the fears that come along with a diagnosis like this. I want to live a long healthy life and be around a long time for my children so I'm going to do what ever it takes to make that happen..
I'm always researching and interested in alternative healing weather it be suppliments or food or anything else that might help make this go away .
