Melissa - I am the same age and was diagnosed about a year ago. Also in watch and wait. I have had various symptoms which I've wondered are due to the CLL progressing and it's frustrating, to say the least, to wonder which things are due to the CLL and which are not. I am trying to focus more on staying healthy overall than on the various symptoms lately, but I know it's easier said than done. Hope you start to feel better.

Hello: I am new to the group, diagnosed in Nov 2015 with Stage 0 CLL. I have always had an interest in alternative medicine and as such I sought natural therapies. I have been taking EGCG, Lypo-spheric Vitamin C, and Grape Seed Extract and my Lymphocyte count dropped from 22K to 20K and my red cell count normalized. There is research online to support the use of these nutrients as well as some others. There is a supposed synergy using EGCG and Turmeric, but they must be taken well apart from each other, I found that tedious and dropped the Turmeric and stayed with the EGCG and the other nutrients noted. Also, there is research to support taking Piperine with the EGCG to enhance its absorption. Suggest you look at PUBMED as a research tool. I am feeling better since employing the protocol and will continue experimenting with the size of the dosages and frequency of dosing. Hope this helps, Grog

Hello: I was diagnose with CLL in Nov 2015 and was a Stage O. I did not like the concept of W&W and wished to be more proactive. I have been studying alternative medicine since 1975 and have seen how effective it can be. I have been taking EGCG, Lypo-spheric Vit C and Grape Seed Extract. My lymphocyte count dropped from 22K to 20K and my red blood count normalized while I was taking these nutrients and I do feel better. You have cll and epilepsy .
I have almost a year and epilepsy 13 years this is from a m/c accident . Lots of pain in bone broken and removed from brain(was to smart)

Hey Melissa71... Just thought I'd let you know of my symptoms. Diagnosed 10 years ago at the age of 41. I don't know if my symptoms are from the CML, the Gleevec, or my age of getting old. I hurt every morning, all day, and at the end of the day. I'm tired, I have trouble remembering things, no energy and no desire to do anything, My whole body aches including legs, knees, wrists, shoulders, back, neck, shoulders. I am now having what I'm calling nerve pains....last month it was my right hip down to my ankle (some called it sciatic nerve) went to chiropractor... and now my left armpit to my middle two fingers. This pain wakes me 5+ times during the night and bothers me 10+ times a day. Very painful.

I don’t think your aches are from CLL or at least those are not common symptoms.

Please give green tea extract a chance to help you, it changed my prognosis entirely. Look at articles on the Mayo clinic website, they stongly suggest using this. I was diagnosed in March 2008, and as of right now I am still at stage 0.
