I mentioned it before, it is very good. Especially the chapter "Ladies Who Lunch". I have reread it many times; it helps me when people make comments like "You don't look sick" (meaning they don't believe I am sick) or " If it was me I would get myself to a good doctor and get over it" (grrrr), or "why don't you pick yourself up and get on with it?" (GRRRR). My anger has gone down a lot.

I bought it too, read through it once already.
It didn't touch me like "How to be sick" did but it did have it's relevant points for sure. Her economic standing is not like most folks here, I suspect and it made it a bit easier I think for her (I'm happy for her)... and I think perhaps what the doctor says much of the time is unrealistic. He talks of how they are partners and he follows her path to help her tie it all together and how we should not expect less.... unfortunately less is generally what we get. There are good parts for sure, those moments that make you go "oh, yeah, been there" but also parts where you wonder where the doctor came from because he can't be real.... sorry, guess I'm a bit off on the medical profession after all these years.

Just finished it. I found it helpful as it had some really funny/ironic situations. It also came from a spiritual viewpoint, which I appreciated. I agree with Nina that I don't know where a person finds a doctor like the one in the book. Good luck with that!
