I was diagnosed by a GP!! CFS is a disease of exclusion, so if you can find a D.O. or M.D. or Rheumatologist, that BELIEVES in the illness you are seeking to rule out....then they can begin testing to rule out all the othe illnesses that could be causing your symptoms. Until everything else is ruled out, from hepatitis, to thyroid dysfunction, to all types of herpes viruses.....you can't consider CFS. We aren't just tired. We're very sick, and you need a doctor who isn't going to give you and anti-depressant and send you packing.
I wish you the best!!
A doctor that helped me greatly along w/ my primary (woman who has lupus and understands), was a NUtritionist. He helped me a LOT w/ diet and supplements.
The nutritionist was the one that got me on the right path. Do not underestimate how food can be very healing to your body along w/ the correct meds and strategies.
Another thing i do faithfully is yoga and epsom salt / essential oil jacuzzi baths. Very helpful w/ sleep and relaxation.
