I've had terrible stomach pain over the last week from stress. I decided to try turmeric for it. I made a type of tea out of it, boiling a tablespoon in a quart of water for ten minutes. I read somewhere that doing it that way helped absorption. It tasted disgusting but it is already really helping. I did it last night and then again today. It also seems to be helping with my joint pain. I read that it's a powerful anti-inflammatory. And good for so many other things too.

That is a spice. I wonder if simply adding it to food would be a benefit too. It would certainly taste better, right?

Yeah, adding it to your food would be good too. And it does taste great that way. I have always loved curry, which has turmeric as the main ingredient. The Indians use it constantly and are much healthier for it I think. For therapeutic purposes though, I think it's good to use more. And I'm sure there is a way to make the tea, or whatever else, taste better. I saw a tea recipe with honey and lemon and maybe something else that looked good. I'm the worst when it comes to making something taste good though. I guess it's just that I don't care. If it will make me feel better, I don't think there would be much limit to what I would suck down. My family thinks I'm disgusting. lol

I use cayenne pepper on my food as a digestive aid..I love curries too...glad it helped thanks for sharing

I take turmeric powder capsules every day. I take them to keep things clear in my lungs and also they help keep fluid down for fibrous cystic breast disease (keeps fibroids from retaining fluid). My acupuncturist said "they keep the qi flowing in the chest area for all sorts of ailments."
And I can testify that they do ... when I run out of them, one week later and I start having symptoms again.

I'm not sure if I can say that they help with inflammation. hmmmm. I'll have to ponder that one. interesting.

I take the powder capsules because I really don't care for the taste when adding it to food in the volume I would need to apply it.
