Is it just that I can't find it, or is there no way to see someone else's profile on this site now - even a friend's? It's how I used to initially get to know a bit about new people (not that I'm all that 'old' myself) and I find it frustrating not to be able to do it any more.

From what I can tell, you have to be friends with the person to view their profile. You just need to click on their name link, and it shows up! :)

*unless that person has made their profile private

Cmiat, I went into friends, clicked on a friend & their profile was at the top of their page as "About me". There were several that didn't have that so I am sure they just don't have anything written in their profile. It was so confusing at first but now a days anything can confuse me. Hugs, Denise

Ah, that could explain it, Denise, thanks. They probably just haven't done one yet.

Yes, I haven't made a profile yet. There is one question that says "user URL" and I don't know what to put there. I imagine that it means the URL for Daily Strength. Does anyone know exactly what that is? I tried a few variations that were incorrect. Help!
cmiat
I think it's just if you have your own website. I didn't fill it in and had no problems.

Cmiat, I am so glad you brought this up. I relied on the profiles for the same reason. I need to write one, because I am locked out of my original account.

Thanks cmiat. I'll try just leaving it blank and see how that goes!

Thanks for the post Cmiat, I know just what you're saying. I would usually refer back to a profile when I was messaging or answering someone. just to refresh my memory. It's sometimes easy to forget certain things especially what part of the country or what country they're writing from if you haven't communicated for a while. It was also reassuring to see all the hugs and comments lined up in a row. Many things. I'm a bit skiddish about writing a profile because that's how I lost access to the site about 4 months ago when I tried to write one. I couldn't figure the URL part out and some other sections. Then, somehow I timed off the site and it would never issue me a new password or let me return. It was just a fluke I got a password this past week and so if I never complete a profile, well, that's just how it is for now. It sort of feels like driving through a deserted city and some of the people are home, a few have their lights on here or there, but many do not. I don't mean to sound so glum but I'm happy to read entries from those who have remained. .

You don't have to complete the whole profile at the same time. Perhaps it would be helpful to try just doing one or two bits and then leave it for a day or so to see what happens?

I hope people would write just a little in their profile. It helps me when I have CFS foggy brain and can't remember details about new friends.
