I've been dealing with this issue for years and years. What worked for me was simply to maintain a level of regular exercise within my limits to keep muscles and tendons toned and strong. I found that inactivity set me up for getting injured over and over again.
It's very difficult to keep up, especially when you feel exhausted and sore all the time, but in the long run, it has really helped me. I still get injuries to muscles and tendons, but it happens much less often and I get over it faster now.
Short term, I have no tricks or remedies I would recommend...just rest the injured area as best you can. A little gentle massage will help circulation and help ease the inflammation that occurs with something like this.
You might try massaging the pressure points just in front of the shoulders, that is what helps me.

Magnesium intra Venus (IV, in a drip into your arm) in hartmans silution is a harmless treatment and will very quickly indicate if its a damaged magnesium chanelopathy. After the Mag IV you may feel so 'right' you think your in heaven but be prepaired for when it wears of, as you may feel worse than before as you reexperiance how crappy a damaged magnesium chanelopathy it feels.
Do you get frequant migranes too ?

I have been taking magnesium supplements for the last few months and it has helped a bit. Too much of it upsets my tummy though, so I'm trying to find the balance.
Ali5tair, I do get migraines, although I wouldn't say "frequently." My pain doc started me on an anti depressant a few months ago to help prevent the chronic headaches I was getting, and that's helped too. I'd say the migraines come maybe once or twice a month now. That IV drip sounds beautiful! Wish I could have one of those every couple days :)
kdavis4, I have been checked for fibro and I don't have any of the hallmark signs of it; no classic tender spots, etc. They are awfully similar though.
