Hey, friends. In case you notice I have joined a sex addict support group, just wanted to explain.

Although when I was younger I spent many years in the throes of sex n love addiction, and then many years in a recovery group for it, a lot of years are under the bridge where it has no longer been an issue for me. I have family members either still struggling or with some years of recovery.

I joined this group because something alarming came up with a neighbor /friend and I am at a loss to know what if anything I should do to try and help prevent a "trainwreck."

I'll probably unjoin from the group after this is resolved, but will certainly reccommend it to others. Looks like a good group.

Just didn't want my friends to think I'm a REAL PERV. ("It's FORMER perv, thank you very much!!! LOL.)

Hey, girl. You know we love you no matter what group you join! I do some work as a Christian counselor at conferences about sexual issues, so I'm pretty comfortable talking about these types of things. How will we ever get anything resolved if we are unwilling to talk about it? Feel free to message me if there is anything I can do to help you address the situation with your neighbor. I probably wouldn't have noticed - but I'm glad there are groups for every possible need on DS. Hopefully you can use the insights you've gained from the past to help your neighbor. My husband has had 20+ years in the social work field with this type of addiction as his specialty, so it's not even something I think twice about when I encounter it.

Neighbor's situation seems to be resolved.
I will be scarce on this site for a while. No longer have unlimited. Going through cell phone withdrawal bigtime. I've been using over 1.5 million KB per month. I know. But games, online stuff, and this forum are therapy for me. Will check in periodically.

Hey, Everybody! Guess what!!! Am sure this can't possibly mean as much to all of you as it does to me, but I found out today, I DON'T (!!!!) have to slack off my forums, or games, or emails, etc!!!! The new contract covers at least TWICE our total avg usage of data!!!!! (AND we now have UNLIMITED CALLING AND TEXTING!!!!!

I COULD NOT **POSSIBLY!!!** use more data than I already have been!!!! I'd have to never sleep or eat, just be online 24/7 and then some!!

So, my friends, will all who care to please join me in the HAPPY DANCE!!!!!!! (And send some sympathetic thoughts my husband's way, as he must be quite downcast, having thought he'd found a way to get me off the cell phone! The poor darling, he does ASPIRE to be controlling, but seldom can pull it off.) (Lol)

Glad you're back, and I'm with the others, no judgement...in fact respect for recognizing the signals and being proactive. There are many kinds of addiction but they all seem from the same place in our brains, so it's just a matter of what flavor we're predisposed to.

Thanks everybody! So thankful I don't have to limit my being on thisforum. Actually the acceptance for the sex n love addiction comes decades after a dear 12-step group judged me TERRIBLY, but we won't go into that, is water under the bridge. Just so neat, how sometimes many years later something can heal an injustice that we had nearly forgotton about.
