Hi all
This is really just a rant as I am soooo wound up right now after I fight with my Mother.
I bought a house with my Mum just before I became unwell (almost wondering if the stress of living with her bought it on) anyway back to the main point.
She was in a great mood yesterday which is good because often she is not, and she had her music up really loud. I was feeling OK so let it go but then a major headache started and I asked her to turn it halfway down, well she then turned into a child and threw a tantrum, said I just wanted to argue to ruin her good mood! I then said that she obviously does not understand this illness as loud music is really difficult with people suffering from CFS, well for anyone with a headache!
After this tantrum I have now had two days of her slamming the doors. how can she possibly understand CFS??? If she had any understanding and/or consideration she wouldn't get angry for me asking her to turn the music down and then she wouldn't be slamming doors any chance she gets!! Honestly I am soooo frustrated at her.
What should I have done? left my own house to get away from loud music whilst getting a major headache? Put up with it???

Why don't you print out the ME/CFS Canadian Consensus Document (2003) and highlight the part about sensitivity to noise, etc?
Then serve the page to her between two slices of toast, for breakfast.
We have an open concept house..without headphones we'd be divorced. We take turns, sometimes i wear mine with or without music while he watches tv volume up, and sometimes he wears them to listen to the tv. Peace reigns....
And for the record, I took care of my mil for over three years, but Id rather jump off a bridge than live with my own mother.. (shudder)
