This ability has just returned in the last few months and I am back to my bookworm ways, although mindful to not overdo, too much reading in one day sends my head to dizzy land the next day.
I don't have too much problems watching tv but feel it is wise to limit screen time, especially in the evening. The light emitted from most modern tv's really messes up the sleep pattern.
So far I haven't had too much trouble with TV except when my eyes are tired or when I have a headache and need quiet.
Reading is something that unfortunately, I have lost my ability to do. This is very sad to me, as I was once an avid reader. I'm not able to concentrate. I have to start sentences over, and I don't comprehend or remember the next day, what I read the day before. It's too much of a struggle for me.
I can read a chapter of a book.....on a good day, and then the next chapter the next day...but if a crash comes along reading stops....and I forget everything I read. So, for me, reading is just too hard.
Very sad. I love books!
Then, in the strange way these things happen, most of that went away. I still get spells of it and I always have to use the captions to understand the dramas I watch on TV, but I can watch TV and read novels again.
It does wear me out, so I read a bit, then turn the ebook reader off for fifteen minutes or so...then go back to it. That seems to work. But whatever it was that completely cut me off from reading, that eased up. I can really see a difference.
What helped - getting an e-reader that allows for larger print and using it to read me the books - kindle does that.
Still now I find my reading rx changes from nothing needed one day to 2.00 needed the next. I have 4 different strengths of reading glasses by the bed.
