Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Support Group
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) describes a sense of exhaustion and post-exertion malaise, even when you have gotten enough rest and sleep. The disease is characterized by six months of incapacitating fatigue experienced as profound exhaustion and extremely poor stamina, and problems with concentration and short-term memory. The cause is unknown, but it is a...
Yes, I drop things constantly. It’s one of the neurological symptoms I now have since CFS, made worse (I think) by the fact that I have very bad carpal tunnel.
The main issue is my inability to grip properly and my inability to maintain a grip for more than a few seconds. Even carrying keys is a problem, so I always wear something with pockets so I can stuff keys and other things in them. I’ve broken a ton of glass/ceramic things, spilled all kinds of things....just a daily occurrence.

Nothing I have tried has ever worked.
I have tried wearing gardening gloves (the cotton ones with the little rubber dots) on bad days lately if I'm working with things like putting a vase away and it's helped a lot. So now I have a pair in my skirt pockets at home. At $2 a pair they are all over the house now so I can grab a pair in any room if needed. The odd things we do to live with this illness....
Also, I don't have fingerprints either. I read in a book published in 2000 (don't remember the name of it) that lack of fingerprints is common with CFS.
These days the doctors around here have forgotten that CFS exists and is real. I wonder what the jackass I have for a g.p. would say about that? Is that in my head too?
other items. I guess that counts. Huum. I go to the thrift store now and then to restock on mugs,
plates and cups because I am fond of ceramics and glass ware. Just don't want to get too
attached. Sometimes, I think it's a matter of me loosing focus. If my minds on something else, I
will bump into tables and things like that. I like your idea of the special gloves. That would
definitely help. I saw something on the net the other day where you can program your
house keys? paste something on them when they get lost so a beep or such thing goes off.
That's a little off topic but I was even considering looking into it.
My fingerprints are so smooth they don't register on fingerprint machines. I go to Disneyworld every year and they use fingerprints to link people to their tickets. Mine ra rely register... usually on the 4th try but sometimes not at all.
I have Hashimoto and ME, like you. Maybe that's what does it?? I always joke that I'm a secret agent and have had my fingerprints removed!
But now you both have me wondering...
I'll post a new topic to ask the group if they have fingerprint issues, and if they have a dx of an autoimmune disorder..
