I am new here but was diagnosed with EBS about 9 years ago when I was very sick and low grade fever and fatigue. Doc told me i had reactivated Epstein Barr which is the virus that is associated with Mono.
I always wondered all these years why i had so many health issues through the years. I watch this really interesting video the other day that is really an eye opener. Worth a listen! I had a terrible fell right before christmas and had alot of damage to my knee, and had a lot of inflammation which triggered my CFS. Also about 2 weeks ago got bronchitis and that knocked me down and i can't seem to get rid of this low grade fever because of the virus. Does anyone else suffer from the low grade fever?

Hi and welcome! We're glad to have you. I do have low grade fevers. It's strange. My temp is usually low, but then it goes up for a while and drops back down again. For a while I tracked it and found that it went from 95.5 to 101 on most days. My doctor didn't seem too concerned about it, but my issue is that when it goes up, even just a little bit, I begin to feel chills and fever. I think it's because it's naturally low, so even a little increase ends up being a fever for my body. Anyway, I feel for you. I've had a few falls and they are awful. Fevers stink too and swollen glands and achy joints and a foggy head. I could go on, but I'll stop. Just know that you are not alone. Years ago (at least 20, I think), before the connection between such viruses and CFS had been made, I used to. I used to have mildly swollen glands in my neck all the time too. My doctor wasn't concerned about it either. It hasn't happened for a long time now though.

A lot of us with CFS have positive Epstien-Barr!! I mean A LOT!! They tell me that my number being so high in the blood work for this virus, doesn't say that it's active right now. Just that I had the virus at some point.

If somebody asked me what CFS felt like, I would tell them it feels like the six weeks that I had mono is college! I recovered from it, but at the age of 57 (actually it was coming for years, just nobody knew what it was) I got the diagnosis of CFS.

I think most of us feel as though we have the flu during a crash. I never have a fever. I FEEL LIKE IT though. I feel very weak, sick, swollen glands almost all the time, sore throat, almost all the time. Exhaustion, stomach problems, food allergies, headaches!! UGH!!

So no, my CFS does not give me a fever during or in between crashes. My blood presure is very low as well, so I'm dizzy too!!

CFS is a real challenge, and I'm sure many people actually DO have a fever. I, however, seem to have everything BUT! ICK!!

i get lots of episodes of epstein barr. i was just hit from behind in my car hard & it triggered my EBV for about 3 weeks now. nausea, low grade fever, flu like symptoms. it really stinks. wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy & it last for weeks at a time.
yes i do agree the symptoms are never ending & i get more & more each year i feel.
i just take one day at a time. thats all you can do.
