Diet/Keto/gluten free/Paleo?

Oops,  I read Paigjey's intro post and then the question on if people have  tried hyperbolic oxygen therapy,  then I went right in to asking about dietary stuff instead of starting a new post. So here's my question again as a new thread.  Has anyone tried any of these food restrictions/diets?? Results?

I've tried gluten free and not eating any cow related products but neither made any difference.

I have been on Keto for 12 weeks. I'm down 24 lbs, my essential tremor is all but gone - my brain fog is lifted considerably and I haven't had a headache in a month. I'd say it makes a difference. However, and it's a big however, it has not made a bit of difference for my PEM, my pain level or do I think in any way it is a cure. I think it may be helpful for the other things because I'm now running on ketones and not glucose; but it's no cure..

I think eating well is good for anyone... cfs or not. I went to a nutritionist for a year when first dxed. It did help but the improvement was very slow.
But I can say that I am much better than I was 9 years ago. I am now able to work part time (teaching from home via the internet) and I have a social life to a degree now. But I am still very limited.
I still have terrible days... this weekend is bad bc I took care of my aunt all week. She broke her hip and I was even giving her showers. I finally cratered.
So, i try to eat well. One thing that really triggers pain in me is aspartame (diet sodas)> I really pay the next day.

I've done the SCD diet and it has really helped heal my intestinal system heal and be more functional though I still have some minor IBS flareups. I have gotten off all the meds and supplements I was taking for gastrointestinal issues and my digestion has so improved--I can eat some foods that I haven't been able to eat in 10 years. It has not really made a huge difference in my fatigue level though so that has been very disappointing--but I will take any tiny improvement in stamina I can get, and I've found out which foods my body tolerates and which ones to avoid and in the healing process I have been able to reincorporate foods which used to cause me problems. See what diet is the best fit for you and what you are willing to commit to, then try it and see if it works for you. It may help you in ways you desire for weight loss and digestion and make small improvements in your fatigue. Each person is different and you can't lose anything by trying! Go for it!
