Depressed - putting the pieces together

I'm cross posting this on both support groups I came here for - Chronic Fatigue and Gastritis.
I was diagnosed with 11 months of chronic gastritis last week and found out today it's not h-pylori related and it's not autoimmune which left the doc scratching his head until I asked if it could have anything to do with my having CFS?
He sat and thought and then said...enterovirus..and he said it may well be that the gastritis is being caused by an enterovirus. I handed him a study by Drs John Chia and Andrew Chia which stated there was a small subset of patients who had CFS that developed viral gastritis.
He's checking into what treatment might be available but he sadly does not think there will be much, it's being a virus....antibiotics are useless.
If anyone else is having these issues concurrently, thought I'd pass it along for you to mention to your doc.

If anyone else has it and has been treated, please share that treatment with me. At nearly a year of daily stomach pain on top of CFS I'm getting extremely depressed and having a hard time. After 20 yrs with this devastating illness you'd think it couldn't throw anything new at me....

My heart goes out to you, I have had CFS 25 yrs and regular gastritis attacks for 4 years. So far I've only had Nexium as a treatment, over the counter antacids and liquid diet for the first few months and then very gradual increase in food intake. Everyone is different, I get very acidic and milk products are soothing. However the typical CFS treatment of constant rest, seems to be the only thing that eventually helps. I'm sure you've tried everything, did you have to stop solid food to stop the pain? I got ideas from the forum on non-solid food, so it was less depressing for me.

It doesn't seem to matter much what I eat except that I can't fill up too much. Sometimes it hurts empty and sometimes it hurts after I eat. There's no rhyme or reason to it. One day I eat yogurt in 1/2 cup servings and that's it and other days spicy stuff actually feels better. My naturopath says that's because spicy sets off endorphins that help pain. I do rest, but after 20+ yrs I'm sure you understand we just don't always behave. It's hard to have a life at all if we do what they say so we push and then we pay....

Sorry you are suffering with that. Hope they can figure out what type and treat it.

I have had IBS from the beginning of my illness and it's painful and awful and keeps me from leaving the house. Doesn't matter what I eat as some foods will trigger it one time and the next time don't bother me at all.
