Just wanted to let everyone know there is a two day CFS/ME conference this week (4/7-4/8) that is being videocast live online.

It looks like there are some great lectures lined up. I plan to watch as many as possible. Maybe we'll hear some enlightening info to discuss here or share with our doctors. :-)

Yep,
something really exceptional.

This conferance has the potential to be revolutionary.

Mikovits may well cover similar ground to that which she covered in the Gordon Medical presentation on January 17, but I think she has evidance why some of the negative XMRV studies havn't found XMRV. She has alluded to it i previous conferances and it may be the right platform for her to share it. If she does it could lift the lid again.

Komaroff's always interesting.

Last night I watched Broderick dynamic modeling and him discuss how he tracks the severity of both illnesses (CFS and GWI) on a molecular level. He discusses the measurable and characteristic disturbances which he is finding in the immune metabolic functions, the immune cytotoxic functions and the immune cell signaling functions which differ between the afflicted population in his study and the control group.

It blew my mind.

Dr Nancy Klimas said Dr Gordon Broderick of the University of Alberta will be speeking at a more sophisticated level at this conferance.
Hence my anticipation.

hope these guys can get together on 1) defining subsets 2) getting across the seriousness of this disease 3) setting up research that treats CFS as a whole with all the major parameters defined such as exercise intolerance, fatigue that is NOT fatigue but illness, reactivation of viruses that we have antibodies to, effects on cns, effects on endocrine, and genetic description. lots of good minds, but all divided. "come together, right now, over me"
