But I know its an illusion...if anything goes wrong seriously like a broken bone, I am in deep trouble. My budget is absurdly tight and there is just no leeway for emergencies...that drives me crazy to think about.
It's all this #$@& disease...I can't think clearly, I have no stamina to sustain any kind of work for long...so I am totally dependent on the little bit of retirement income I have. I'm sure there are a lot of us in the same boat.
I wish all of you who are struggling the very best...let's hope we all manage to stay afloat somehow.
I'm so sorry that you're struggling and having to consider moving. I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you! It sounds like you are doing everything you can to try and mange your money the best you can, and you can't control it, so please try not to worry. I know it's hard. I've found that taking time out to do deep breathing 3 times a day helps me to feel more relaxed.
A couple of practical things, if you are going to sell your house, and if it looks anything like mine (!) it might be a good idea to spend a wee bit of money making it look its very best to tempt buyers into spending more. Local house sellers (brainfog!) will give you an idea of what you're house would sell for before you jump in.
If you moved to a smaller house, would it reduce your monthly mortgage/rent?
It's mostly about not looking too far into the future and doing what I can do now with what I have. It's just frightening if I look too far ahead with my critical analysis and see how unprepared we are for emergencies and retirement, etc.
Somehow we get by.
I've never been a money person. Meaning, I just don't care about fancy stuff and money is numbers on paper. It's just getting the numbers to play out the way I need them to work for me.
I just need to try harder to stick to my budget, hope there are no emergencies EVER, and not think too far ahead. Easy breezy. haha
That's a good line, Richie.
