Hi everyone,

An add in my Gmail side bar got me to look at http://www.drpepi.com/ She is a doctor who claims to be able to treat all kinds of conditions, including chronic fatigue. The page dedicated to fatigue: http://www.drpepi.com/energy-fatigue.htm has a long list of glowing testimonials. You can contact her for a phone consultation, but of course it costs a couple hundred bucks just to talk to her. I'm skeptical of her claims, but of course also desperately wanting to believe that SOMETHING could fix me.

After a horribly exhausting week, I am feeling especially low and wanting even more to find something to make me feel better. I can't accept that this is how it's going to be for the rest of my life.

I've never heard of that specific doctor but I've been to ones that have the same claims. Its not just like consultations, its also hundreds to thousands of dollars of testing (rarely covered by insurance) that may not lead to anything of use. Sometimes the best thing to do is try to find a doctor that specializes directly in CFS because when someone treats tons of ailments they end up doing the same protocol on everyone even though they say its tailor made to you and at least if your going to a CFS specialist its tailor made to just CFS. Its is really important to make sure your not eating things your allergic to etc. but a CFS doctor usually helps find those things as well. stay away sweetie, unless you can find published papers proving her claims. these people may truly think they can help, but it is very rarely true.
I went to a center for cfs/fibro. I had to travel 6 hours to do so and the treatments were very expensive. they helped for about a week each time, but not over the long haul. I ended up in the hospital after about 6 months of those wonderful treatments. thats where i finally found a doc who took me seriously and have been with him since.
our disease is serious and can be life-threatining; it certainly is debilitating. save your money and energy.

Thank you both for the replies. I thought it was probably too good to be true, but I'm feeling so desperate for any relief, as I'm sure you can understand. I would gladly pay a ton of money for something if I KNEW it would work, but I obviously don't want to throw more money chasing after a mythical cure. Thanks for the support :)

I already spent my entire savings trying to get well. I have been to so many specialist I've lost count.

Since I'm sicker now than when I started this journey I wish I had all that money back.

I completely understand the desperation in trying to get back your health.
