My shift was, again, filled with rudeness and public ridicule by my boss. He ripped a pen out of my hand because he didn't like what I was doing. I said something to the lady who got me the job in the project. I emailed her, rather. We haven't had a chance to talk yet. I am REALLLLY close to having a meltdown the next time he pulls something like that on me. He also rips me a new one for doing something, yet says nothing when someone else does the same thing. Also, the same guy who was asking for me to sell him Seroquel, was trying to get people to take him to the store to get vodka because he was going thru withdrawal. So basically he drinks on the job. I feel like I am on a bad reality show. I don't know how much longer I can do this. Luckily the work week is short and the "boss" is off tomorrow and Wednesday. );,$,!?$$$$$!!!!!!@@@@
I don't think ripping your pen from your hand is okay at all...it's very invasive and inappropriately physical. I hope you can get some support with this where you work.
If you can muster enough courage, I think it would help to just tell him off. Say something like..."You are seriously disrespecting me and it's not acceptable. If I need to improve my job performance, please point that out in a respectful manner and stop behaving this way."
I've seen this played out in workplace situations, and standing up to the bully did work. Sometimes people bully without really being fully conscious of what they're doing.
You deserve to be respected.
