Abilify ; A magic pill?

Hello everyone,



I don't post often but I want to shrare how good I feel. Three weeks ago, i was prescribed 2mg / daily of Abilify in combination with the Cymbalta I have been on for the last few years.  Since starting Abilify, My brain fog has lifted and  I have enough energy to go through my day without napping.  Before  taking this new pill, my two daily naps were necessary for me to function.  I am surprised with the fantastic results but I am also worried that it won't last.  


I must add that I am not bipolar not psychotic ( usual use of Abilify). My doctor prescribed it because of recent good result of Abilify use in combination with antidepressants.


Have any of you tried Abilify? How long have you been using it? How do you feel? 


I read that long term use of Abilify can cause serious health problems, should I be worried?

Thank you for sharing this with us. I'm sure a lot of us would like to be able to go through a day without taking naps (including me). You could look up Abilify on the internet to see what the long term health effects are. If it can cause serous health concerns with long term use, then I would assume that it is only prescribed for short term use. You would have to ask your doctor about that. But yes, I would be concerned. But it probably depends on your particular health conditions.

You show your mood as being bad. Does that mean that you feel depressed, irritable, anxious or what? If you feel depressed, then is it possible that the Cymbalta isn't working as well as it should be? I am going to look up your profile and perhaps that may shed some light. I'm glad that you're feeling better for now anyway. It must feel good to get rid of the brain fog! Let us know how it goes for you. I'm glad it's working so well for you. My only warning would be not to overdo it, though, because sometimes we can get "borrowed" energy that our body can't really sustain. I do hope it turns out to be a long-term help for you. Thanks for sharing.

Hi there.I haven't personally ever taken either of these drugs, but I can understand your relief in feeling better. Sometimes just a break from our suffering gives us hope again. Wishing you the best.
