Yes, I get exactly THIS...what you described.
I have an anxiety disorder and I know the difference between a panic attack and THIS.
THIS is a rapid heartbeat, sometimes irregular. I have no heart disease! I've been thoroughly checked for that. This will happen to me randomly. Usually in the middle of the night though. I never know when it's going to happen.
After a couple of months of testing and finding out that my heart is totally normal, my doctor figured out a good solution for me!!
He gave me a blood pressure medicine. ( I have low BP, actually)... What this medicine does is slow the heart rate!! That's exactly what I need! SO, when these episodes happen to me, I take a pill called Cardizem *calcium channel blocker* and within twenty minutes my heart rate slows right down! Perfect solution for me.
He says that this has to be a "wierd CFS thingy" because I have NO heart disease.
May I recommend to you that you not assume that it's panic, and just get checked by your doctor. If all you need is to stop the racing, thumping heart, a low dose blood pressure med could do the trick. This is MY experience only.....please see your doctor! Hopefully this suggestion could be of some value!! oxoxo
