Is there anyone who is one? Or is everyone here just a Christian?
I have been studying with the Witnesses for 11 years. Although I attribute my knowledge of the Bible, and its meaning of content to these studies, I have fallen short on becoming a Witness. I do not believe this religion is a cult. I do feel that Witnesses are God fearing, stive to be the best individuals they are capable of being and believe God is the Father and Jesus is His only Son . I personally was raised in a Catholic-Polish environment. Guilt and Shame where a given, and where taught. This religion is a breath of fresh air....really!!!
I do see how others cast judgement on them because of their beliefs, and in our society, they have an air about them that is intimidating. This is because of their methods, based on beliefs, of going door to door. I admit, there are times I don't want to chat, however, these people are Christians. They believe in my God, they want to be upstanding citizens and they want to do it following the instructions put forth in the Bible. Who could stand and ridicule someone of such emormous strength and integrety? Not I.
I believe we are all here on Earth to spread the word of truth that the Bible instructs us to do. We, as a selfish society, are unwilling, and unavailable spiritually to do this. I am NOT casting judgement on anyone with a different opinion than mine. I just felt it necessary to clearify un-true, preconcieved ideas of anothers religious beliefs.
For eg. we embrass those who read fortunes and predict the future....this is not the works of God it is Satan. I will back that up with a verse if anyone wants to challenge this thought. My point is this: we are all here living together....let's make the best of it. Don't run from opening your door when the Witnesses are on your porch. Instead, let them know what ails you or worries you. Not only will they pray WITH you, they'll back it up with real Bible beliefs. No one can top that. They are the only religion I've encountered that doesn't spread guilt and mis-truths. They know their Bible, and we can only benefit from their knowledge.
