A few weeks ago a friend of mine brought me a 'prayer shaw'. I had no idea what to do with it and I was too embarassed to ask her. It sat on my dresser for a few days before I finally decided to give it a try. I really didnt know what to do, besides the most obvious.
I felt a little silly the first time I threw it over my head. But, then I began to pray. It humbled me before the Lord in a way that I never had been before. It helped me. I don't understand how; in fact I cant even explain it. It just did. Now I'm not one to put my faith in inanimate objects, not even a cross or a rosery. I guess it was just a reminder that before my Lord, I am lower than the dust. Only His love and Grace are what make me His child.
Just thought I would share.

This sounds like a wonderful object lesson. I know I went to a Messanic Jewish church, and all the men wore prayer shawls. It is a way to connect with their Jewish heritage. They worship Jesus as Messiah and Lord, but they honor the traditions.

I think that it just a beautiful way to pray, thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you so much. Now I just have to find a crocheter or knitter to make me one. I used to knit a lot, but my hands can't take that kind of twisting and pressure these days.

I have two if you will give me your address, i will mail you one of them. Please pray for me; I just poured boinling water over both my hands. The silvidine is helping but it still hurts like crazy.

Dear jenn, I went to that link, and that's a beautiful prayer that the person says while making the prayer shawl. I didn't know that was the deal. Thanks for the information. Now you've found out that you didn't really put your faith in an inanimate object, you were experiencing the good effects of the other person's prayers for you. Love the story! Judy

I am praying for you. I would love one of them, but it is expensive to ship to Canada. I know because every time we buy something on ebay, we have to get it shipped to my son in the US, and wait for them to bring it to us.
