Christian Support Group Community Group
This is a place for everyone who loves Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (or those who are seeking Him), to come and discuss important issues in their lives and find support from fellow believers in regards to their faith and life. We uphold the Bible and living a Christ-like life, not as a way to heaven, but as a reflection of our love for God.
However, for me, I do believe that compassion is a more important thing we need to have. Jesus ministry of caring and healing came out of his compassion. There are too many examples to post, but this is one.
"When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things." Mark 6:34
The parable of the Good Samaritan is about compassion.
"But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion." Luke 10:33
The parable of the Prodigal Son is about compassion.
"And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him." Luke 15:20
We are to develop compassion. Although we should note that humility is also included in this verse.
"Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience." Col. 3:12
"For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one." Hebrews 10:34
Walter, I would appreciate it more if you wrote these devotionals in your own words, and quoted the Scripture verses complete with book, chapter and versein the future.
