I found out yesterday that a woman that works at a store I frequent is being beaten by her husband. She had a big black eye. Her name is Olivia. Please pray for the Lord to deliver her from this abuse.

I pray for her husband to be delivered from being an abuser.

I pray that she will contact the police and get the help she needs. Abuse will continue until she confronts him, hopefully in the presence of people who are bigger and stronger than him. Their marriage can only be restored it she has the courage to stop this abuse.

I have some VERY strong feelings about this. Women are not to be doormats, and it is illegal in our countries to hit people. Being the husband does not give him the right to hit her, and Olivia is not making things better by trying to hide it. The cycle of abuse is very complex, but easily broken.

Please give her this link. The abuser keeps the woman in line by going into periods of being nice and telling her he will change. I am sure this has happened before, and if it continues it may get worse. I will definitely pray that she learns about boundaries, and gets the help she needs. Her husband will not stop, unless he is forced to. Not even if he is a Christian. Sorry, that is the bitter, sad truth of this terrible dynamic.
